Broken Trail

With Great Anticipation I waited on this movie. It was worth the wait. Robert Duvall was as great as ever. This movie was certain to out do Open Range, but by only a bit. No movie ever could out do Lonesome Dove, that is for sure. I guess is I was the writer I would may have changed a few things, however the cast really hit their marks and I was again drawn into the Character. Mr. Duvall can certainly sit a saddle like no other these days. It is the same sorta thing I have said about Clint Eastwood. I learned that Duvall is 75 years old and I don't know if he has another western in him or not, lets all hope. Good movie and thanks to my Mom for taping this one for me.

Happy Birthday Christie!

Twenty-Two years ago today our baby girl was born. Christie was such a precious baby. I remember when TC was in labor, I had stepped out of the room for a minute and when I returned they had placed an oxygen mask on Tc and I just about flipped. It was just a precaution but it scared me to death. When Christie was delivered, I was the happiest man in the world. She has always been a great kid and a joy to be around. Christie never gave us problems and I count the times of her disobedience on one hand. From the beginning I knew that god has a special purpose for her and we are watching with delight that purpose being fulfilled. Happy birthday Christie and while it pains my heart that we will not see you today, just know that our hearts are with you. We are so proud of you. Love Mom and Daddy!
In other news, we are having church today in Cecil and Lorrie's back yard. It is nice to be having this in Cherryville and I am looking forward to it. Because Terry J. has been out of town, I will be speaking today.

A shout out to Christie my daughter. Sunday is her birthday and she will be 22. We are not sure if we are going to get to see her or not, but our prayers and thoughts are with her and David. Chad is preparing for summer break at Job corps, and we can pick him up next Wednesday. I hope that he and i can do some good stuff while he is home. I look forward to it. This Sunday is gong to be exciting. We are having church in cecil's back yard and all of wellpring is joining us. These services we are having outdoors are just too cool.
My heart just breaks for the families of the two troops killed. I am not sure what to do with this anger I feel. I do not like killing and wish peace would prevail, but look at what you are dealing with. Not one of our troops that have been captured have been found alive, while many would have turn those we have captive back onto the battlefield. I think not. At least they are eating and sleeping everyday. God be with us and God be with our President, Commanders and the troops.

Time: The Father's gift; A dad's treasure

"But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us." - 2 Corinthians 4:7 (ESV)

What an awesome Father's Day. TC and I traveled to Brevard to Christie and David's house where Chad was already there. We spent the day with them and we also spent the night. On Sunday, we went to church with them, went to the Twin Dragon Super buffet, rode up the parkway and chilled for a while beside the river. After we came home, Mom and Dad stopped by for a few and Christie and David came and spent the night. David spoke at Riverview Baptist Church on the subject of JW's. I can't believe it is Monday already, but back to the grind stone, or at least the steering wheel. As many know I drive a truck so I have about 2000 mile to travel this week. Looking forward to it.....Blessing to all and glory to our God and Father.

Can church be this good?

This past Sunday, Wellspring met and worshipped at the Moss Lake Park. We gathered under some trees for about 30 minutes of music and then everyone just begin to share. Terry had a good message and many others shared things. Man it was awesome. Afterwards we all had brought our picnic basket aso we had lunch together. Moe brough his boat so most got to ride around in it. Awesome day asa many folks walked by just to see what we were doing. Next week, Crowders Mountain near Kings Mtn. Then the week after that we are in Cherryville.

The Fruitland Experience

What a joy it was to watch David and Christie graduate from Fruitland. Christie got the PHT Degree. "putting hubby through". TC and I remembered the days when we graduated Fruitland.
It was good memories. What a Blessing to receive the "Fruitland Experience" www.fruitland.edu
I listened to Thad dowdle talking about striking out but not being our of the game. I must keep my eye on the ball. It was really nice to see some instructors like, Kenny corn, JD Grant, Mr. Willingham, Todd, and so many others. I also sit and thought of all the old friends I had. I really have not kept up with them as I should, however I do hear from several of them on occasion. I have kept pretty close to John and Nicky. They were roommates and were closer, but they let took me and I don't think I could have made it without them. Thanks, John and Nicky~

So Christie and David are moving this weekend and they really are excited> we helped them for several hours yesterday www.wellspringcommunitychurchnc.com

The Power of ONE

If God be for us, who can be against us.....The power of one! You have heard of the Army of one..... But as brothers and sisters in Christ we are an army, a family, a community. I thank God for giving me the community of wellspring and I long to know them more. The power of One!

David is graduating this Friday from Fruitland Baptist Bible Institute, where myself and my father Graduated. I am looking forward to watching him walk the stage.

May God's Will be our Sole Purpose

Sunday was great. David did a great job at preaching and he looked very comfortable. Davis id very intelligent, sometimes too much. On occasion, things he might say goes over my head. Oh well that may not be saying much (ha ha) Anyway, we ate at the church for lunch and then hung out at their apartment until around 5:00 PM. Drove home in the rain, what a blessing.
Saturday Night we cooked out with Cecil and Laurie. We had fun. I love to just watch the kids. I truly believe that God is going to use our two families to start something special here in Cherryville. May His Will be in my as my sole purpose!

A good line and truth as well

This coming weekend we are going to hear David (our son-in-law) preach at Turkey Creek Church in Brevard. I hate that I am missing home group but it will be our first visit to their church. We will pick up Chad and all have a nice lunch afterwards at the China Dragon..Oh yeaaaaaa!!!

One of my favorite lines from Braveheart.......

There's a difference between us. You think the people of this land exist to provide you with position. I think your position exists to provide those people with freedom. And I go to make sure that they have it.
