The topic of Love and other stuff

Last night I watched a news anchor debate a lawyer from the ACLU. (The Glenn Beck Program). The lawyer went on to talk of the freedoms that all people have in America thanks to them. He cited how they have protected frr wpeech with all organizations, like pro-Homosexuals, Porn Groups, and other sick organizations, YET when Mr. Beck asked about the girl who wanted to mention Jesus in her speech at Graduation because He was the central person in her life, this guy went ballistic. How can he hate our Lord so much that he goes to all lenths to have Him removed. How can anyone in this group sleep at night? I guess because the world does hate our Jesus that much. The same who mocked and spat upon him and cried "Crucify Him Crucify Him". That is just sad. I guess we have to pray for their salvation because I know that God loves them. How can we not? We must, as hared as it is to love some of these people. God help me!

My friend had a couple of good post. Check his stuff out. Sometimes I disagree with him but for some reason the Lord just keeps us connected somehow. Also, I met a guy named Jimmy Spencer on the net. This is so cool because I found his website last weekend and thought it was interesting. In fact I bookmark it. Then this past week this guy responds to my blog and says that someone forwarded it to him. I hope that we can dialogue about some things. He puts a lot of audio blogs on his site and he reminds me of my friend Jason the way he talks.

Its off to work I go. Some of you may know that I usually don't work on Fridays, but that is changing. At lest for a while I will be teaching Defensive Driving at our Lowell office and throughout the state that we serve. The OT will be nice and I love teaching. That is one of my passions is teaching, so it will be good. See ya

Trying to Catch up

I have been so busy here lately. More than I want to be. The overtime is great but I hope that after a few weeks things will get back to a normal schedule. On Wednesday I lost my trailer brakes in Raleigh so I did.nt get home until around 9:30PM. It alsways seems that God provides extra money when we need it. During times like this he may be providing extra for something in the future. I finally got my 92 blazer back from the shop. I have had to put over 1200 dollars in it so far, but it is still cheaper than a new truck. Hopefully, I can get back to some regular post in the next week or so.
Last week at Wellspring was absolutely awesome. Although we had to leave before the fun event to take Chad back, the worship was just tremendous. One lady heard us from her house so she dropped in. How cool was that! I know that God has a special plan for wellspring and that he will use us if we allow him to. I am still wondering on how god will use Lifesong or will He use it at all. I guess we will find out.
I heard a pole today that said,"religious influence is making less and less of a difference in the US". I think many of us feel that what we are doing and the method we are using to "be the church" will begin to have more of an influence as time goes by. What a blessing and what an exciting time to be alive.

A picture worth a thousand peace treaties

What an awesome view. It is too bad that most media outlets do not pay much attention to the good things that are gong on in Iraq and Afganistan. This trooper knows well indeed this simple moment will probably change this little fellow's outlook on life. I wish that we could all sieze the chance to do little simple things. Because of my conviction of little compassion in my own life and my desire to see it increase, this pic means a great deal to me. This soldier is armed to take on about anyone with the best and most updated equitment yet, he offers a bare hand in friendship. In my bood that is pretty awesome.

The Whole Armor of God

Some of the things that I struggle with are; Compassion for others, and easy to anger. I first become convicted of the first a few weeks ago. For me it is hard to feel for some people, especially when it appears they have all the advantages as the next person. My wife tried to explain how some may have been abused to the point that they just can't function in this world. So, I've decided that the way I would handle that I this: Give everyone the benefit of the doubt and give grace because much grace is given. In return I look into their lives and see what is going on instead of just casually making an assumption based on my prejudice. Secondly , anger has creeped into my life and changed the way I feel about people and certain things. I can go from easy to explosive in 2.8 seconds. Why is this? It has not always been this way. I have been searching very hard. In fact, this feeling had me so depressed for just a little bit because and I quote myself,"Wade could not fix it". I tried! I said just stay cool Wade and then something would happen and BAM! Red faced and a few choice word to who ever made me mad. I finally got to a point that I knew I could not control this so, I begin studying the scripture about anger. More of that to come later but first one thing I am doing is reading the Armor of God everyday. When I do not put on the armor I fail everything. I have it posted beside the computer, in my room and even in my big truck. Lord help me!

Ephesians 6
10 A final word: Be strong with the Lord's mighty power. 11 Put on all of God's armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the Devil. 12 For we are not fighting against people made of flesh and blood, but against the evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against those mighty powers of darkness who rule this world, and against wicked spirits in the heavenly realms.
13 Use every piece of God's armor to resist the enemy in the time of evil, so that after the battle you will still be standing firm. 14 Stand your ground, putting on the sturdy belt of truth and the body armor of God's righteousness. 15 For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News, so that you will be fully prepared.* 16 In every battle you will need faith as your shield to stop the fiery arrows aimed at you by Satan.* 17 Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. 18 Pray at all times and on every occasion in the power of the Holy Spirit. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all Christians everywhere.
19 And pray for me, too. Ask God to give me the right words as I boldly explain God's secret plan that the Good News is for the Gentiles, too.* 20 I am in chains now for preaching this message as God's ambassador. But pray that I will keep on speaking boldly for him, as I should.

Awesome Sunday

At our Good Samaritian Sunday we had a blast. Tc and I went to the Laundry Mat and handed out quarters. We met several people and talked about jesus and even our church. Later that night we met for a meal and sharing. The most important thing is that we met for worship. Moe was annointed as he led worship. I would like to see this become a monthly thing. as Pastor Terry put it, " We were being the church instead of going to church". It was awesome and it really help me put some thing into prospective.

Driving and Thinking

I made my regular route on Wednesday and when I got off work I had to drive to Raleigh NC. I finally got in my motel room at 10:15 PM. I was so tired. I gave a SMith System Defensive driving class and got back home around 8:00 PM that night. This morning I am off to Gastonia for another Smith Class and then we are going to the River tonight and stay at our camper. Hopefully, we will get to go tubing with the kids on Saturday. This coming Sunday is Good Samaritan Sunday so we will do what we feel like God is telling us to do(which currently we still have no idea) and then we will have church on Sunday Night. Chad called yesterday and told us that he will recieve his GED in about a week, so I am sure we will begin talking to him about his plans. We are busy but extremely blessed!

Some Interesting Things

Here is me standing beside the NC Fireman's Memorial located in Raleigh NC. It was really cool to see this as it list all the firemen that have fell in the line of duty since 1900. The memorial is located in the downtown park right in the middle. We also toured the governor's mansion.

This week Chad had a chance to go to the gulf area in Alabama. He is returning on Thursday. He had this chance because one of his trade teachers really likes Chad. These days that concern me a bit but I have a peace about it. Actually, it was very good for Chad to have this opportunity. Chad is considering leaving Job corps once he receive his GED which is only a few weeks away. I think the teacher is trying to convince him to stay. Anyway, pray that Chad may make good decisions.
I found this website this morning and I think it has some cool stuff on it Be aware that I have not investigated enough to draw a conclusion, I just think that they have some pretty cool thoughts and I would like to know more.
TC goes back to work today and I will be out of town until late Thursday evening. I will be teaching a Defensive Driving class at our Raleigh office. We are going to be camping up at the Lodge this weekend as Christie and David are bringing their youth to camp as well. This Sunday is Good Samaritan Sunday at Wellspring so TC and I are praying about what we are suppose to do. Being a planner I do hope that God reveals it soon.

Our Outer Banks Trip

Here are some pics from our little trip. TC and I had a wonderful time. I really can't believe I waited this long to go to the outer banks. We left on Sunday and stopped off in Raleigh NC for a little while, then stayed the night in Asheboro NC. On Monday we went to the NC ZOO. What a great Vacation.

All is well that ends well

Isn't that what they say. This weekend was so good but Sunday morning the devil attacked. I am sorry to say that we did not respond with the correct arsenal to defend him off. Yes, we could have but we didn't, bottom line! With these issues with our son, Chad, we felt that we should stay at home and discuss these matters. He had some real feeling that we were not aware of, but in the end he decided to "cowboy up" and went back to job Corp to finish. I am extremely pround of Chad for making this decision. After all that we just had a great afternoon and we felt good as parents as we left Chad at his sister's to be taken back after church. It is so much easier to leave him at Christie's. I am very sorry that we did not make it to church as I was suppose to lead, but everything worked out and I asked Cecil to do it. I must tell you that I only asked him about 9:00 Am on Sunday Morning so he had to rely on the Holy Spirit as he should. Our church is so blessed to have some many teacher in it and I am glad of that as I almost always get something different from different people. I found this website if anyone is interested in knowing what is going with our troops I think it has tons of info that we don't always see from the media. Outer Banks trip two days and counting!!!

What's coming up for us

On Friday TC and I went up to Brevard to pick up Chad. We spent several hours with Christie and David and ate lunch with them at a great Mexican resturant and then went to the river and just waded around and skipped rocks. Pretty fun. After that we picked up Chad and came home. Chad has taken all his GED classes and has passed all of them. He is only waiting on the results for the writing test. We know he passed the math test so Glory to God. That was the one I was worried about the most. His attitude has become almost unbelievable. He really went through a bad point a few months ago and we just prayed and prayed and he finally came out of that. Praise God!!!
We are looking forward to church on Sunday and then TC has to go back to South mountain for her final week at camp and I have to take Chad back to job Corps. He is really excited about getting to paint cars. This coming Thursday, TC and I are leaving for the outer Banks for our vacation. We are so looking forward to it.

I am working on the Discussion for this Sunday. I have been led to this subject Real Worship or the Worship that God desires. I am currently reading "The Journey of Desire" by John Eldredge and it has made me think of all the desires that I have in my heart. Some good and some not so good. It has made me want to get rid of all the bad desires, but that is a process for me. So, I have been consumed for weeks about desire and I thought, what does God desire. Well, we have that in Scripture. God created us so that we might in turn worship him. In fact we were created to worship. I am looking in John 4:16-24 with the woman who was a prostitute. We must worship God in Spirit. Does it not seem that when we worship, all things come in to clearer purpose. How cool is that?

Pictures of Worship at Kings Mountain

We had an awesome time in worship and fellowship. I wish that everyone could have been there. I am looking forward to worship at the Greenway in Boiling Springs this coming Sunday.

Some Random Thoughts

A couple of personal things. First, I almost bought a newer truck this past weekend. After praying I realized that i would have to go back in debt, so I forgot that idea. I just don't want to be in debt again. So, I took my 92 blazer to Phil's with a list of everything I know that is wrong with it. I figured around 1500 would fix it all and I could just pay for that. Anyway, not sure why I mentioned it but I did.
This past weekend I was pretty much still recovering from my cracked tailbone. On Friday we went to the Lodge and spent the night in our camper. On Saturday we TC and I along with Terry and Dawn, with some help from our daughter Christie cleaned the bath house at the campground and organized all the cabinets. It looks really good. We also saw the caboose they got for a bunk house one day. Sunday morning we had church at Kings Mountain State Park
It was really nice as we had a good Word, some good Worship and a good meal, along with a good walk. Some of us went down by the lake and down the creek, while others went walking around the campground. Truly a wonderful day. Terry and family will be out of twon this week so I will be leading the service up at Boilings Springs. I am amazed at how God always brings things together. I anticipate this a great deal.
TC and I are looking forward to our vacation starting August 10. We are going to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. We are staying at a very small local mom and pop motel. More about that later. God bless
