Hometime

We are on our four day break at home. It is so hot around here you can hardly do anything. I think we really needed a this small break for the kids. I had one last nerve and they were on it' not really. Tc and I were just talking about how easy we have had it this summer. So, no big plans; hopefully we will think of something interesting to do. All for now.

Monday's Pictures

So here are some pics from Monday's day off. Me and Christie in the cold water, and I mean it was cold. When I jumped in it about took my breathe away but is was tons of fun. One of Tc and I favorite things to do to relax is head for running water. Something about it is just relaxing!

Christie going down the natural slide. I went up under the slide and was able to hold myself there just long enough for a quick breath. There was about 6 inches of clear air up under.

Of course this is the idiot that started at the top but I was too big to pass between the rocks, so I had to nudge myself forward a little.

Cold Water and Kids

Monday found us with our 10 hour break. We rode up to Christie's house in Brevard and went to a waterfall near the fish hatchery. It was quite awesome but the water was freezing. No matter we jumped in anyway. We met a nice couple from New Zealand on vacation. TC was a little worried because of a Dad who was allowing his kids to play a little too much in the deep water. This place had a natural water slide, it was awesome. While we were gone the cleaning lady came to our house. It is so nice to come home to a nice smelling and clean house. The relief staff took the boys to get a haircut and we just had fun. Tomorrow we have a meeting at lunch time with the Connections Pastor at Foothills and then tomorrow night we are having supper with some new friends. He is the drummer at Foothills and he is going to work with me a while. Should be a wonderful day.

Chad is doing fine. We talked to him today and it looks like he may be disqualified from Airborne because of his eyesight. He has grown frustrated with the Army and all the screw ups they have made. This should have been caught weeks ago. Anyway, we should find out in a day or two what is going on. All for now.

Camp and Dog watching

Sunday Morning and all is well. Our fridge went out so we are doing the cooler and ice thing. A fridge with a computer in it. The repairman said he has to order it and it will take a few days. Today after church we are taking two of the boys to Camp lions Den sponsored by the Lions Club of Anderson SC. It is held on the campus of Clemson University Outdoor Lab. I think this is the last camp for the summer and in just a few weeks we will be back to a full house. School starts back on August the 18th, so that means a good break during the day. That's all for now.

Our Supervisor is on vacation so we are watching their dog for a few days.

Saturday photo Hunt- Hanging

Friday night found us HANGING out by a Campfire.

Mr. Wade likes HANGING around a fire.

Miss TC taking another marshmellow off that was HANGING.

Swimming and Repairs

Friday found me taking the camper to Twin lakes Body Shop where they will repair the camper in a few weeks. We took the boys on a picnic yesterday to South Cove County Park where the boys were able to swim for a while. TC watched them swim while I took the Van for servicing. I arrived back just in time to see TC blowing pretty hard and heading to the showers to wash the sand off of them. She was ready to go I would say. Man, I wish I had the camera. Honestly the boys did good she said, it was just hot. Today the boys have visits and appointments and i must take our lawn mower to the shop as the steering linkage has broken. Tonight we plan on having a campfire and roast marshmallows. It should be a hoot, well that's all for now.

Looking at Stars

Well here we are getting back into somewhat of a routine, I guess a summer routine. From vacations to the beach to camp, it has been very active. Last night we went to church and BountyLand for the first time all month. It was good to see everyone. Today we are taking the boys to a picnic lunch at Yellow Branch and then the twins have a dentist appointment later this afternoon. I took the boys out last night after dark and we just layed down on the trampoline and looked at th stars. It was amazing to hear them talk about shooting stars and comets and such. Our time with just four boys are winding down and the house will be full again soon, but for now we are still enjoying our small family.

Camp Champ in Progress

Here we are at Candlestick Retreat Center and we have enjoyed our time here. Camp champ started today and their are about 30 teenagers here. Mom and Dad are still here and will remain until the end of the week, but we must return to Collins Tuesday. DAd and i have been repairing some gates and putting on some door stops and prety much taking it easy. TC and Mom are working in the kitchen. TC is going to do breakfast in the morning and we will break camp and head for SC. After settling in I am going to find a shop that can repair our camper from the wreck. That's about it, just chilling in the upper 70's up here in this little valley surrounded by mountains. It's a great place!

What a joy and a pain in the butt to take these rug rats, hoodlums and yahoo's to the beach. This trip was not easy as there were several things that were quite stressful. But, all in all it was worth it to see the faces on these boys. God truly Blessed!

Do you remember the first time you saw the ocean? That's how he felt!

The twins were captivated by the catfish surfacing outside the deck at Key West Grill.

Big A had to take on the big brother role with the younger kids. He did great.
We got back to Collins Home safely and we are wore out. The good news is that our four day break starts tomorrow morning at 8:00AM. We are going up to Candlestick Retreat Center again with Mom and Dad and work a few day with Camp champ. While there is work to be done we enjoy it very much so we can still relax. I talked to State Farm and they are gong to handle the repairs to the camper. When we get back next Tuesday I will find a place to take it and get the estimates. All for now and there is no internet service up at Candlestick, so I'll post again in a few days.

Beach Pictures

There are the two twins waiting to play some games.
All four walking to the pool.

The outside view. We hope that panel can be replaced and the wall rebuilt. The bumper and stablizer bars will also have to be replaced. Other than that the camper is great.

The inside view of the camper after it was hit.

I wish I could post some pics of the faces of these boys. All is having a great time and of course time is flying. The Twins was overwhelmed with the ocean and had a blast. Last night we went to a beach party with tons of games. My age is showing with all this water time. We were so tired last night we could hardly go to sleep. Of course my snoring and wiggling did not help TC too much. Another night and a wake up is all we have left. God is truly blessings.

Wow, what a day

Well we made it to the beach. We are staying at Lakewood Camping Resort. We made it but not without some problems. First, after all we did to get these boys ready, and that takes permission from caseworkers, approval from management. So all that was done and we was packed and ready to go when around 9:15 PM the folks called to say they no longer wanted to sell their camper. So, after the initial feeling of devastation we jumped on Craiglist and starting looking again. That night around 10:00 we found one and I called the guy and we went to look at it and we bought it. It was cheaper than the other one and in excellent shape. Things were going great and we were about a half mile from the campground when a 16 year old driver rear ended us. The camper may be totaled or it could be repaired, we don’t know but it is still usable. So we are here now and we will enjoy the rest of our stay. Well that’s about all it’s time to hit the hay.

Good Morning@5:15

It sure is early here on a Monday morning. I guess I am up because i slept so good, not sure. I have been having to take Advil each night as it seems to help my knees from aching and also my Restless Leg Syndrome, which if you have ever felt you would know. Today our relief staff comes in to relieve us for 10 hours. Usually we try and hit a waterfall or something but today I think we are just going to chill and get ready for tomorrow. Yo see a wonderful opportunity has presented itself. After selling our camper, we found one close to the beach, we if nothing goes wrong, we will take all four boys to pick up our new camper and stay at the beach until Friday. We are hoping all goes well. Administration, Caseworkers and others must sign off on it so we will see. Happy Monday folks

Saturday photo hunt-Support

Here is someone that has always SUPPORTED me, my Dad.

I SUPPORT this and what it stands for!

And I SUPPORT my son and all the other US Armed Forces, who have volunteered for service and to defend and SUPPORT their country.

When I was in the Army, we SUPPORTED each other.

This lady has SUPPORTED me for 25 years.

These folks SUPPORT the children here at Collins by giving them aid in their homework.

I had to get bigger SUPPORTS for these tomato plants.

That's my Mom, and she has always SUPPORTED me.

The Boys Are Back In Town

TC and I spent Friday searching the internet for more campers and preparing for the boys to get back home. TC went to Camp Chatuga and i went to Camp Sertoma. We have arrived back home now and are starting the process of washing all those clothes, two weeks worth. And yes they stink really bad just in ase you are interested. The boys had a great time camping, horseback riding and swimming among a hundred other things that we heard about on the way home. It is fun to see them so excited but it was even more fun to see how excited they were to see us. WE missed them too.

Well we are out of the mountains now. After leaving Pigeon Forge we went of course to Minneapolis NC. This retreat center is awesome. Mom and Dad were there and we really enjoyed walking around all the creeks. Saturday was a fourth of July Parade like I have not seen in years. This is a small community and everyone came out for the parade and it was just great. We are back in Waco where we will stay until Thursday and the its back to Seneca. Vacation is still going great y'all. Back out!

WOW, Tc and I just returned from Dixie Stampede and we loved it. I love horses and it was just awesome. It was also very patriotic at the end and everyone brought the house down when about 10 riders was going wide open with the American flag in the air. Again it was awesome. Tomorrow it is off to Dollywood!
