Friday morning and schools are still delayed or closed around here. I think it's ridiculous. Let the parents take the kids and leave the buses in the parking lot. Anyway, TC and her sisters, Debbie Sue and Lisa Gaye are flying out to San Antonio TX later today to see their brother Red, probably for the last time. He has many illnesses and has been in poor health for many years. Red, or Robert is a Vietnam Vet and lives down in Laredo. TC and them will rent a car and head down south on the border to make their trip. I think they are coming back on Monday. Meanwhile, i will be holding down the fort here at the Faith house until she returns.

Well they are calling for more snow around here, I guess we will see. Working in the office this week has seen me working on the Mission trips, operation Inasmuch, and lots of little mundane things that needed to be done. It was so cool the other day when we worked with RAM (Reaching Avery ministries) in going in half and purchasing some kerosene for some older folks that needed it. I love doing that! Not too much on my mind today but i wanted to post something about this week.

This week has been filled with cancelled school and snow days. It started getting better at the end of the week. Christie and David came over Friday night and will stay here in Spruce pine with us until Sunday. Tonight we will be taking the whole gang to Boone and to eat out celebrating Buffy's and Sam's birthday. I have been busy trying to work out some details for our mission trips this summer and Operation Inasmuch, a one day mission blitz which will take place May 1st. Tonight we took the group out to eat in celebration on a couple of birthdays. Lots going on around here to keep us busy, that's for sure.

Today, 27 years ago I woke up and could not believe that I had talked this hot Redhead into marring me. We were poor, didn't have hardly nothing what wasn't given to us, we were excited. We drove a 1974 Ford Pinto, yes that's right a pinto with a sunroof and a Dixie horn. Oh God, I can't believe we had that and that I actually liked it back then. Anyway, I got a weekend off from the Sundrop bottling company and our honeymoon was at the Breakers Resort in Myrtle Beach SC. Oh yea, I fit right in with my cowboy boots, large buckle and yes my cowboy hat. If you can imagine, when the pinto broke down, we actually purchased a 1964 Ford Falcon. That was ot family car until it quit and then we drove a 1968 Pontiac Catalina. WOW I digress. These 27 years have been awesome. God has blessed us with so many things that we enjoy. cheap things that have made us happy and brought us much joy. It is our privilege and honor to serve Him daily, it's only that we cannot do enough to repay Him for what He had done for us, mainly shedding His blood on Calvary to pardon our sins. Today, we go to Gatlinburg where we will enjoy dining at some great restaurants, spending time ALONE and of course with a rented cabin with an outside hot tub, what more could be better. I am so looking forward to this weekend. BYE BYE

Wow, it's been hard to get on here lately. Just to catch up we have had lots of snow here in the high country of NC. It's stopped snowing for now and was replaced by freezing rain, great. More snow is coming though. I have been working hard on the summer mission trip trying to get most of the planning done and organizing a few more projects. It takes so long when you have to wait on others to get aback with you. Things at Crossnore are still going great. We are getting to know the kids better at Faith House and we are leaning our roles much better. I am on a different plan now, I get paid per what I do. This takes the pressure off and I still get compensated for the work i do, it's great. Between the missionary position, the group home position and trying to get my Masters, I hardly have anytime left, but all is good indeed!
