That is That

It's been a busy week to say the least. Between adjusting and working up here in Avery County, I have not had time to do anything. I hope that this weekend gives us time to post some pics here. In the meantime, we have received all four kids. It has been rough getting Dish and our internet hooked up but jopefull by today that will be done. I went to Chad's court date and the deal with him and Tashia is over now. That is good, she will probably be moving to Virginia, which kinda makes us sad but at least it is not too far. She was going to live with us for a while but other things have came available to her so that is that. Chad has some other legal things to deal with so we will see about that. I finally feel that I am catch up around here at the office. I have a lot of meetings planned in the next two weeks as we prepare for our Annual Meeting in October. Well, all I have for now.

TRUST

Sunday morning and we are just spent our last night in Spruce Pine for a while. Only God knows how long, and that is fine with me. This morning we are visiting Oak Grove church for their homecoming where a former pastor of ours Rev. Gary Garner is preaching, having lunch with them, maybe visit Chad and then head back home to finish packing our clothes and food and then head to Nebo. Things are about finished down there, we just need a few more things and it will be complete. I have a peace about this move, since God told me to trust Him and the Mate He gave me, so I did, and i have a peace. Much to do this morning, so off I go.

Change and Courage

OK, a Big change is coming again to our lives. The next adventure! TC and i toured and interviewed at South Mountain Children Home in Nebo NC, just outside of Marion. We have accepted a position there as live in foster parents. After our one attempt at foster parenting here at our house and what all TC has gone through, we thought it best not to try that again here right now, so we are gonna try it there. We said that we would have three kids, but they have given us four kids of a sibling group. Hold on, check this out.....Their ages are 1,2,3,6...Yes you read that right. TC is happy about it cause they are babies, but I have my concerns. I will describe our duties more in detail when I get the chance. Heading out to a meeting where the membership committee will be interviewing a new church to join our association tonight and borrow a friends 18 foot trl to help us move. We will be dong that Friday and Saturday and receiving our kids on Monday. Prayers are welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111

Morning blues

Wednesday Morning Blues...Well kinda. After yesterday's work day, I find myself in an unique spot. What I thought might would work at the Pregnancy Center is not going to, so that leaves me still as the Executive Director, and I must invest some time into that or it will start falling. As soon as I can, we will have a Board meeting and we will have to figure out something. Today was suppose to be a pastors conference with lunch but only one has made contact so i will probably cancel that, maybe take that pastor out to lunch. It's hard to get anyone to do anything. As the Apostle Paul said, It's hard to kick against the pricks, meaning it's hard to go against the grain. It seems that I have two oxen that refused to work together; pulls in separate ways even. Oh well, we will do what we can.

Found this logo, is it not great.....I will have to use this for something one of these days.

Also, I am working on a video for Christie, my daughter and I came across some of these old pics....They are awesome!!!

Memories and Movies

Sunday morning and we are visiting Abundant Life Outreach this morning in Spruce Pine. They have extreme praise and worship, of which we like, and a great atmosphere....later today, we will go and see Chad. Avery county is so small and I have had several conversations with Sheriff Frye and I know that he is praying for chad. I have asked my friend Pastor Ron Greene to visit chad this coming week. Ron is a prayer warrior!!! I know that both TC and i are having flash backs when chad was a kid as we have spent a week with John. Well, it's a rainy day in the mountains but it is so cool and feels so good. We got caught up yesterday with the grass and unpacking from the beach. Tomorrow, we will take our final applications to South Mountain and go and visit Christie and David. Christie and I will go and see the new Borne movie, it's kinda our thing. All for now....

Beach, Babies and Blessings

Following are some pics from our most recent beach trip with our Grandson John and his mother Tashia, whom we accept like a daughter. This was so much fun and it was TC's dream. sitting here right now, I am so glad that I got to be part of making it happen for her, and me. They have returned home and it is back to being quiet. TC already misses him so much. There is much to do around here to prepare for our move to Nebo and our next adventure at South Mountain Kids Home....All for now

Goodbye Goldwing

Goodbye Goldwing...It's been a good ride. For several years we have enjoyed this bike. It has traveled behind the RV on Mission trips and has provided quite a few great rides through these mountains. I felt it was time for it to go, not because I had to, it was just time. What's next?

Dinner and Conversation

Yesterday we took the van for servicing, rode back down to South Mountain to get the complete application packet, begged for some records from an older employer(got them), cam home and cut the grass, rested a while and then went to dinner at our friend Danny's house. He had everything fixed so nice, the table and welcome card. We had a nice chicken that was marinated in some secret sauce. Rice, and sauteed asparagus with peaches and ice cream to finish. We were gonna watch some Celtic woman but TC got a call and took most of her time. Danny and I talked about ministry, church, computers and much more... A good day!

Mission: Teddy Bear

Yesterday I asked the Frank volunteer Fire Department and the Avery County Sheriff's Department to come and show their skills and talk to some kids we had at a camp in the county. The kids, from FBC Aberdeen NC, was thrilled and made home made bears to be given to Fire and Police for kids in crisis. We all pray that God will use the efforts. Thanks to everyone involved!

Babies and having a Blast

What a blast having John this weekend. It's Sunday morning and the house is so quiet. TC loved that so much, as did I, but I doubt I have the capacity that Grandma has. she is missing him so bad. He is such a good boy. Tashia spent some time with chad down in Asheville and then brought Chad back here and then she left to go home. Chad has been talking quite a bit. He seemed a little depressed when he arrived but it has gotten better. We are talking to him about going to his Uncles Kenny's house in Barstow California. It's in the middle of the dessert, but Kenny has lots of toys and work to be done around the house. I believe that he loves Chad and that he would do all he could to help Chad. I think this would be a good thing. That should be settled in a few days. Meanwhile, he continues to seek his claim with the VA and i believe that he should get it in time. So, this morning I am continuing to read a book called "The Shack" It is very insightful, but certainly way out there in the imagination....but i love it. Well, its gonna be a wonderful day so lets get to it..........

A day at the Park

We are keeping John this weekend and so we spent the day at the park in spruce pine and in the South toe river....WE live in such a beautiful place that i can hardly take it all in sometimes. Here are several pics from the day!
