Wrecks and Wishing

OK, so above is a picture of the back of the Saturn where a young girl ran into the back of me. It is crazy that this is the only damage. A car was turning in front of me and it was raining. I used my signal as well(habit of  mine), I even swerved a little as to get her attention, but I saw her closing in fast. I begin to hear her tires squeal. As she grew larger in my rear view, I knew she was going to hit me, so I folded my arms across my chest, put my head back on the head rest and readied myself for the contact. She hit me hard enough to knock my can drink out of the cup holder, but as I pulled to the side of the road, this was the only dammage. Rubber bumpers! I felt so sorry for her. She was shacking and the trooper was going to have to write her a ticket. I knew the damage was minimal, so we are working it out between ourselves. Although she was suppose to call me yesterday, as of now I have not heard anything. I know where she works, and I have all her information. i will give her time.......

Me with my winter beard from last year

I need to go here and pray again!!!!!!!

The Bug

Well the week has been OK, but as it ends, I get sick. The minute books are all done for the association and everything is ready for the meeting. I had to come home yesterday and now I just can't hardly move. Very sore and dizzy. Some kind of bug I reckon. I hope to feel better this afternoon as i need to head into work later.....

Chad, Christie and stuff to do.

On Sunday we went to see Chad at the Avery County jail. There are a few questions as pertaining to his release date. He received 60 days and at the time he had served 38 already. He should have gotten credit for those days but at this time he has not. He was visibly upset about this. I told him that I would look into it. Later I went to the Journey Fellowship where Christie, our daughter was leading worship. It was really good. Everyone wants her to come back when she can. I came home, did some thinking and then watched Hell on Wheels. Today i continue to work on our Book of Reports. It's amazing how people send you stuff electronically. Some have sent them JPG or by PDF so I have tried to convert them into a word document so I can then place them into the Book of Reports document.
also, today if it works out Christie and I are going to meet for lunch. I hope that works out. I have to go to Walmart and try and get my glasses repaired as well. a run to the trash dump is in order too. It was quite cold this morning so I turned on some heat. I really enjoyed a cup of Joe on the front porch. this is shaping up to be a nice Monday I think.

My Friday Rant

I end this week with a day off or sort. As far as the office, we have about everything we need to make the book of reports, and will be finishing that up this weekend and printing them next week. We have cutoff the finances and will make  final deposit on Wednesday and end the years receipts. That will become part of the book of reports and that will be that. ready for the Annual meeting on Monday October 1st. Today, I am heading down to Shelby for a session with LifeQuest, then over to see Mom and Dad for a while.

New Pictures

Work today was pretty good. WE got a lot accomplished, me and Kat. I really hate that I am losing her back to Crossnore but it is a good move for her. I think that I've decided not to hire anyone and do the work myself. I need the extra money and I usually enjoy the work. sounds like a plan to me.

Courthouse and Composure

Today I am going to the Avery County courthouse where Chad, or son has a date set to answer the charges of assault on a govt. official and communicating a threat. It is kind of crappy charges, as this stems from him throwing a cup of water at a guard, however it was a stupid thing to do. Inmates throw their own urine at these guys, so he had a right to be mad for sure. I hope it does not take all day because I have tons to do.

Benji

Benji sporting his new hair cut. I know that his days are numbered, so is ours but i will do everything in my power to take care of him. It appears that he is almost completely blind, can't half hear but it tickles me when he get excited about something, which is not often. He desires to be around someone as much as possible but is also OK with the quietness. He has been such a good dog and i do not want to see him suffer, but hopefully he will last a long time, even though he is 16 1/2 years old already.

God of wonders

Finished up another meeting yesterday, in fact two. I am a Board member for the Mayland Citizens for Faith and Family Values, and we had a quickie yesterday for dinner. Topic, for us to sponsor some sort of a conference before November election to encourage the folks in our churches to get our and vote. We submit that they should vote values and not a specific candidate. It's tough this year for sure, but we still have to consider not on the presidency, but others as well. Last night was the Budget and Finance Committee meeting for the Association. These are good folks. Actually, I got a 3 % raise. That really encouraged me a lot. Another area of thought is this; I have a part time secretary and she is leaving. We talked about the possibility of me doing that job instead of hiring someone and the association would just pay me instead of anyone else. Now my primary job calls for 20 hours per week at a rate of about $26,000 per year. This would add $5000 to that mark. something to think about for sure. I was just thinking that I may have to get a  part time job, so this could be it. God sure does work in wonders....

Board Meetings...Yawn

Well, still figuring out what to do with the van. Still looking at options. TC needs something quick, and she is probably making her own decision, which is good. I have been staying up here in Spruce Pine because I don;t think I can handle such young kids. TC has some help now and I am sure that is making it easier on her. We are not seeing eye to eye on most things right now, so we need much prayer for that. Saturday was spent almost entirely on the fundraiser for Cranks Ky this winter. Sunday, I preached at Pineola Baptist and then Christie and I went to see Chad. His court day is this Friday. Today, I looked at a few vans but nothing came up. Now, i am off the the Pregnancy Center board of Directors meeting. This should be a good one. All for now

??????????

Well Poop, the van blew a head gasket and it will cost 1265 to repair and we only paid a thousand bucks for it. I think i will sit it to the side for the time being. So, now the van is just like me, a blown head gasket!

Shade Tree Mechanic

Well yesterday was so good. Church was amazing, free and unrestrained. It was a Spirit Filled Service. What was the most amazing was watching the kids have a blast. The three younger ones just took off but the oldest was reluctant at first, but in the end he loved it and can't wait to go back next week. Afterwards, the van broke down and we had to get someone to let us borrow their van(Dianna Love). Today I will drive it back up and hopefully repair a busted thermostat on the venture. 8 bucks worth of parts will probably take all day because where the thermostat is  located. Shade tree mechanic I am.

Really enjoyed watching the race last night......A good day indeed

Struggles

Looking down from the front porch

THE Front Porch
Sunday morning and we are here in Nebo. This week has been a lot tougher than we thought or even have said. Several times I felt like walking out. I knew coming that this many kids and this young age would be hard for me to handle. Of course Tashia was suppose to help and that has really hurt TC a lot worse than i thought.  God is the only one that never fails. TC was down last night, and it was hard to see. We drove up to Spruce Pine and got a few more things. We were planning on visiting a church called Nebo Crossing, formerly East side Baptist Church, but TC could not find the Kids church times, so instead of getting let down, we think we will drive up to Abundant Life where we know there are great kids ministry's and great worship for us. These kids have never been to Church. Well, we are talking to another girl about coming to help, but we will see. WE may be going to the zoo tomorrow, we will see.

Philipians 1: 27-30 NLT
Live as Citizens of Heaven
27 Above all, you must live as citizens of heaven, conducting yourselves in a manner worthy of the Good News about Christ. Then, whether I come and see you again or only hear about you, I will know that you are standing together with one spirit and one purpose, fighting together for the faith, which is the Good News. 28 Don’t be intimidated in any way by your enemies. This will be a sign to them that they are going to be destroyed, but that you are going to be saved, even by God himself. 29 For you have been given not only the privilege of trusting in Christ but also the privilege of suffering for him. 30 We are in this struggle together. You have seen my struggle in the past, and you know that I am still in the midst of it.
