Times do get tough..But God is tougher

Today was my sweet prayer time at Midway. I love praying with these pastors. Afterwards we always gather in a circle and hold hands with a victory chant. Love it! Afterwards, I went with the cowboy church pastor, Roger Blevins, to Mt. Paddy Church where he played the guitar and keyboard while I jammed on the drums a bit. According to him, I'm ready to play. Cool!
We had to take the HHR to the Chevy place. Bottom line is this; change the oil to a GM approved oil and perhaps this will fix it, and if it does not then I must get rid of the car. We will see....
Did a bit of shopping with TC, then we were taken out to eat by some church members to Smokey Mountain Barbecue(YUM), and then to tackle a tough issue at a Deacons meeting. Last night when I arrived home I was so emotionally wore out. Today, starts a whole new cycle. So, let's drink our coffee, have out devotion, then we still do some studying and then head out for the day.

Strength, being Sturdy and Studying

What a great weekend. While Saturday was spent mostly studying and resting, Sunday was a blast. We had a great service Sunday and then at 1:00 PM I had to be at United Chemicon to pass a drivers test for the fire Department.

Then, to the church by 4PM to help Faith river set up. That service started at 6PM and man, was it ever awesome. It appeared that everyone had a great time. This is an awesome group from Wilkes.

Afterwards, some of us went to Pizza Hut and has some great fellowship. Monday was full of meetings, fellowship, visits and of course the written test for the FD last night. If passed, I will then be able to drive the trucks to calls.

Today continues a busy schedule. More than can be done but you do all you can. Meetings, Prayer time with other pastors, etc. Lord, give us all strength.

A Pastor's Life

It has been said that a pastor only works one day a week, Sunday. Well, we know that this is not true, as most people agree. I guess if this was true there would not be a shortage of pastors in America. Fact is, it truly is a 24/7 calling. One can make their plans, but they are always subject to change. This being said, I would not want anyone to think that this is a post of complaining, rather I glory in this schedule. Why? Because of what the Bible says in I Peter 4:13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy

As well as other places, it is the joy of the Lord that gives us the peace that passes understanding. To be partakers of the suffering, means that we will also be partakers of the joy.
I would love to point out that almost on a daily basis I feel that weight that lies on a shepherds shoulders. This weight is more than a human can bare, which in turn causes us to lay this burden at the foot of the cross. Jesus knows what He is talking about here for sure. What a JOY it is to serve God and in the process serve His people.

This life has kept me from blogging, so I will not try and catch up. for me I have my calender that reminds me of my activities. God is blessing more than I can even imagine. This week has come to an end and I am spending it resting tonight. Sometimes it seems more than one can bear, but God always picks me up. Praise be to our God for all His blessings......

Loving Life

The last few weeks have been very busy. I've not had the time nor energy to blog. But, with that said let me be clear, we may have been busy but it has been great. Meetings, homecoming, family, studying and such. I love my life...most days anyway :)

One of the highlights was getting to spend some time with our grandson
