2010 Spring Meeting of Avery Baptist
Here are some pics from our Spring Semi- Annual Meeting of the Avery Baptist Association. Those who presented were representatives from Habitat for Humanity, Blue Ridge and high Country Prison ministries, Baptist Children's Home and the North Carolina Baptist Aging Ministry. Of course I gave my report and the choir from Oak Grove baptist sang two great songs and my Dad, Gary Huntsinger brought a very challenging message. A great night!

Enjoy
Enjoyed going to Powdermill Baptist church yesterday. Lord, what a crowed they had. Came home and ate Mexican for lunch and enjoyed an afternoon of watching Nascar. Good race. I am so proud of the residents here at Faith house on their Spring cleaning efforts. Everyone worked hard on their rooms and major clean up. The house looks good, and smells good too. We gave all the dogs bathes. Today is going to be busy but I will enjoy it.

Bird Watching
So, Mom and Dad are coming up to visit us today. This will be their first time here at the Spruce pine cottage. They are staying through Tuesday. Dad is preaching Monday night at our Spring Association Meeting. Monday will be busy as we have our children's home donation to store and pack up, finish reports for the meeting and of course the actual meeting that night. Actually this will be my first one since being voted in.
I heard a preacher say on TV this quote, " I am no long worried about the Left wing or the right wing, I am worried about the bird". WOW, that's saying a lot.

Busy Friday
Sometimes things don't work out like you want them to. I expected between 10 and 15 people to travel tonight but folks were calling and canceling. Even my bus driver. Oh well, we will take who we have and enjoy the tour. So many people are wanting to get a pregnancy center here in Newland. Another project I am working on is a bikers ministry. We are looking to start a chapter of the Carolina Faith Riders. We will have a meeting in May for interested folks. Things went very well. Our numbers were very small but it was so awesome. Lots of things to get accomplished but it will be done on God's timing.
So, this morning I have take a kid from Edwards cottage to court and drop him off at DSS in Madison County. I hope to be back after lunch.

Jesus Inside
So far this week I met with a mission team going to Horry county SC and a pulpit committee from First Baptist of Elk park. Tonight is church at Minneapolis cause they are in Revival this week with Doc Chaney and tomorrow night(I'm Excited) we will be touring the Tri County Pregnancy Center. I can't wait to see the faces of those who tour this facility knowing that God is moving the ball fast to get one in Avery County. It's gonna be awesome to see all these folks load up on Aaron's Church bus and everyone ride over there. Jesus is Inside

Leather
We finally found some brown riding jackets that match. Men and ladies style. We got brown so it would match the bike, plus I like brown better than black. We have to find TC a helmet with pink in it though.

Teenage Boys
We took one of our boys shopping yesterday and when i got home I was called to work at the Edwards cottage late yesterday. Edwards is a older teenage boy cottage. We went to rec. and they played ball and other fun things until they started getting destructive and then we went home. Lights out was at 10:00 PM. I left this morning at 9:00 AM came home to Faith cottage and started getting ready to go and preach at White's Memorial. TC and I went out for lunch and rode down the Blue ridge parkway for a bit. It's cool up here but the sun is shining. Heading back to White's tonight for PM services and back home to rest. Monday is coming and it is going to be a busy one.
Oh yea, TC and I found matching leather jackets and we really like them.

Saturday

RV is repaired. Decided to leave it in Waco and not have to go and down the mountain with 14,000 pounds. Mom has really made the little camp site nice. I have to figure a way to plug in and face the deck in the right direction but for now this is fine.
Today, TC and I head to Asheville to look for Leather products and new helmets.

Clarity
What a beautiful Friday morning. These last few weeks have been very hectic, even our mini vacation came with some stress. Both TC and I have seen our share of struggling recently. TC seems to think that she is out of her element with these older kids. I can see her point but we are here for at least another 9 months. We have to stay one year. I am praying for more days like yesterday, it was a good day. I think we can see past all of this, sometime it just piles up but we pray for clarity.........Today I am taking the RV down to Houser Camper for them to repair the awning where they put the bar on backwards. Also gonna get them to look at the damage done by the blown tire and get an estimate on that. Afterwards I am heading to Waco to go through some stuff in the building and try and get rid of the stuff that was left over in the old love shack that we recently sold.

The Nod
He walked out on the beach, the wind blowing in his face, the sand between his toes. As he approached the edge of the waves his eyes were fixed upon the horizon. His thoughts bounced around uncontrollably with he fact that the West coast might have the sunset but only here could one find the sunrise, which he preferred. As the sun rose and warmed his face he become aware that only he and one other gentleman were enjoying this magnificent sight. After some time had passed, he turned to notice the other gentlemen had began the slow journey toward the main land. As their glances met and at the same time. both men gave the courtesy nod which is all that needed to be said. The End
* Just one of the many moments that I enjoyed these last few days. It's back to work wide open with hardly no time for ourselves. something will change soon and there will be more moments like the previously mentioned, period!

Things that go boom
The journey to lakewood was exciting. 25 miles short and we blew a tire. We decided to replace both right side dually's because of dry rot. Wow, that snuck up on me. Thinking about replacing the other side on the way home before they fly apart. Anyway, we found the beach, walked in the sand, and of course me and Benji caught the clorious sunrise and a good cup of coffee on our rock! Off to camping World this morning to get some things to repair a water leak. Happy first camping of the year.

See Ya, Beach Bound
So, we have been trying to get ready to leave for out little mini vacation to the beach and of course it has been eventful. Smudges was attacked by a large German Shepard and we had to take her to the vet. Quite expensive for some staples. When I went to hook up the car to the RV I realized I had left the hitch in my truck which was in Minneapolis, so that was done at around 11:30 last night. All the kids are getting on my last nerve so we are heading out in just a few minutes. can;t wait to be driving down the highway. See ya

Tuesday
It's a good day when I can do everything on my list, which is the case from yesterday. Today it is back to the office for me but it is not bad when your office is Avery County. Taking a trip to scout a mission project on top of Beech Mountain today and later water exercise at the Y.

Driving Miss Daisy, or Mr. Know it all
Yesterday was very nice. We arrived at First baptist of Elk Park at around 6:20 AM and got started right at 6:30. We had 6 churches represented, Pleasant Vally baptist, First Baptist, Open Door Baptist, Elk Park christian church, Heaton christian church and First United Methodist of Elk Park. The church was really full and we enjoyed some good music and after the sonrise service enjoyed a great breakfast provided by Elk Park first. We preached again at 11:00 and then headed for Mom and Dad's. It was good seeing everyone including our son, Chad. We were so tired by the time we got home, I watched a little of Axe Men and it was lights out for me.
Today, I have to give Nick some driving lessons, like he doesn't know everything already, take him to get sized for a tux for senior prom, and do all the end of the month paperwork, which usually takes about two hours. That should take care of today.

Age and Goofiness

The RV is out of the shop with good brakes and new calipers. We have outside today and we are gong to clean it up. It was a long hard winter for it sitting lonely at the candlestick beside Chad's pop up. Finishing up preparing for Sunrise Service and the 11:00 Service as well. After church it's off to Mom's house. Crunching some numbers yesterday. Daddy was 70 yesterday and it dawned on me that Christie was going to be 26 in June. Time flies. Heck, I'm only 24 years behind daddy. Man, that's a trip. I stole goofy boy from Sarge charlie because that's the way I feel sometimes.

Miracle On The Mountain
Imagine for a moment; TC and I running at a fast pace to catch a training meeting on campus and just right before we get to the training building, we see Christie. Is that possible? Now it is, because our daughter Christie and her husband David, we call him Son II, are the newest Resident Counselors at the Crossnore School. This is truly a dream come true for us. We have always wanted to live near and see them on a regular basis. They have been posted at the Gilcrest Cottage which is older teenage girls. This is perfect for Christie. IN fact we were out last night and saw them and Christie looked so good with those girls. They are in training for a few days.
In other news, I am at the end of two weeks of really long days. My body is tired and I am going to rest today, although I will now have to prepare a Sunrise Service(6:30) for the Elk Park area, and a 11:00 service later in the day. So this morning I am studying and then I am going to hit the parkway and ride my Goldwing for a few hours.
