Arrested

Well it's Friday morning at the last day of Camp champ. I getting ready to head that way and I get to spend the whole day over there. I set up the camper but we have only used it to take a break or two in. I am glad the office work week is over, I don't necessarily like that part. Anyway, I was in prison last night. Actually, I am now on the Board of directors for High Country Prison Ministries, and we had a meeting last night. We are preparing a One Day With God event along with an event called Best Dads. All of this will be in a post later. I don't know what I would do if I had to go to prison. The doors locking behind me was a bit much and I could feel my anxiety level climbing but once in the conference room I was OK. Well heading out for now and then TC and I are going on a Fellowship Ride Saturday, Lord willing and it ain't raining.

Giving It to Jesus

Wednesday night service at Camp Champ, where God showed up....So neat to see kids crying their eyes out, hugging and loving on everyone. Even neater to watch one boy give his heart to Jesus! Awesome week so far. After a day in the office this was exactly what I needed!!!

Camp Champ

The beginning of Camp Champ..Rounded up they are getting their T-Shirts. So far(It's Wednesday already) they are having a blast. Big hike yesterday and today they are going to a water park over in Tenn. Already, they are preparing their cardboard boats. This should be great.

Rolling On

Monday, Tc and I cut the grass at my office and had some alone time in Asheville. Enjoyed the conversation. Today, we got up and helped with breakfast at Camp champ and then had a meeting at Crossnore at 9:00 AM. Lets just say it went well. I came home and trimmed the hedges here at Faith house and did some weed eating and TC has some meetings back on campus this afternoon. We are meeting back at Camp Champ to help with supper and enjoy some time there this evening. Hope to have some pics later.

Today after preaching at west Burnsville Baptist church, Mike and Mary took us out for lunch and then took us to a place called Quiet Reflections. It is a prayer chapel and this pic is taken right when you walk in the door. Yes, it is gorgeous.

Gonna Be A Good One

Well folks let me tell just how cooler it is high atop this ole mountain!!! Wow, am I lucky to live up here. After experiencing some vehicle difficulties, we finally made it down to Cleveland County to see Mom and Dad and even had supper with Chad and his new girlfriend Tashia. It was nice seeing him and he looked good I thought, except for that beard. Mom seems to be doing a lot better after have the other knee replaced but it is still slow going and I knew she tries to put a positive spin on things. Today, I am off to preach at West Burnsville Baptist Church and then I need to start cleaning the camper up on the inside. Gonna be a good one.......

A Must See

Ok folks, Let me tell ya about a movie I watched this week. Below, Taking Chance is perhaps the best movie I have ever seen. I cried like a baby while never feeling so proud to be a person and an American. This is a true story of an escort taking a fallen Marine back home. It was written from the escort view and also has interviews with the escort and the family. This is a must see!!!

After breakfast the worked here the rest of the morning cleaning and organizing. This was a very good trip and the best part was working att he church during VBS.

Checking In

This trip has been pretty tough. It's so hot down here but we are managing. The A/C have all gone out on the vfans and they are in the shop now. It's bumping a hundred so it's been very hot riding around Albany Ga on the gold Wing too. I leave in the morning and I am excited to see those Carolina Clouds high up on that mountain.

Update

Found a hot spot at an old Army Buddy's house, so I decided to post some pics so far. I hated to be rude while i visit my friend but I just wanted to add some pics. looks like I'll be leaving here on Friday.

As of today I have just about everything finished for the week. Bags are packed and the RV is packed, cleaned and ready to roll. I am going to leave this afternoon pulling the bike again and I am headed for Albany Ga where I will be joining E-3 Student Ministries of Minneapolis Baptist Church on a week long mission trip. I have not heard of they have Internet at our staying location or not but I will try and make updates when possible. If not, I'll be back next Saturday

Today

Today I ran around a lot. I rode the bike this morning and came home around lunch time to see TC off. She took a kid to SC to register for college. I went with a local pastor to the court house to put in a plug for his addiction ministry and then met my buddy Chad Rogers for supper. Back to Minneapolis for a Camp Champ meeting and then church. Back home now and I am pooped. Lots of running around tomorrow, one meeting and then it's packing to leave Saturday morning for another mission trip. This one is in Albany Ga. Later

Starting the Week

Here we are this week trying to get it all done before I leave again. Yesterday I did'nt feel to well but the day ended pretty well as we went out to eat and then hit the river walk in Spruce Pine. Today, I'm heading down to see Mom and Dad and tonight I have the pastor's conference. Tomorrow I will go with a local pastor to our counties local drug court to pitch Reformers Unanimous Ministry to those with addictions. Could the court order those to take this program? We will see. More things to come.

Faith Riders

This morning we had our first official meeting followed by a ride around Roan Mountain Tn and back into Spruce pine for lunch. We had a total of 9 present and we really had a good time. We have planned a ministry outreach for our august meeting. Here we are gathering at Minneapolis.

A Busy Friday

Today was a very busy day. This morning several of the key players met with Mike and Mary Higgins at the association office to discuss the pregnancy center. Pastor Ron Greene from Oak Grove was there too along with me, TC and Tiffany. After talking a while we went to Oak Grove to look around at a house that they have for a possible site. Much prayer is needed for this. Afterwards we went to the office where a group took measurements to build a front porch at the associational office, Then, we went to Carolina Barbecue to eat lunch with our group along with Chad Rogers from Candlestick Retreat Center and a DOM and pastor from Rockingham NC. After finishing up there I was invited to come and preach at Mike and Mary's church to preach later this month and spend the day with them. This afternoon I had to cut the grass at the office and tonight I am pooped. Tomorrow we will have our Faith riders meeting and then go for a ride around Roan Mountain. I hope it don't rain but we need it so whatever.
