Extra Work & Remembering

You have served us well. Monday past, we drove up to pound Va and met the family that purchased our camper. We had to exchange the money and title. That went well, except the A/C went out on the Escape. It is now in the shop, most likely a compressor. We had it for four years, or so. What great memories we have made in this camper. Well, now to find the right one for us.

This crazy dog.

So, this is Buddha TC shared this pic with me. Made me miss him real bad. Made me miss all the dogs we have had. Well, another 2 day run at work. I treated one Septic Patient, one suicidal ideations, and a fall so far. This week I will work an extra day in Ashe on Friday. All for now!

Simple & Service

Just a simple thing. Driving home from work, and seeing these beautiful views. We are blessed indeed to live where we do. Of ,my 3 day run at work, calls have been fairly low and low acuity, meaning not so bad calls. We had a pretty bad streak going, glad that has ended. Some of the most calls we have are sick people, where they stay at homer as long as they can, then get so sick, they must call an ambulance. That's great! We come in, start IV's, assess to make sure there is nothing wrong, ie...Cardiac, respiratory, etc., then fix the dehydration with fluids, stop the nausea with Zofran or Phenergan, draw some blood and deliver them to the ER, where they continue to provide care and continue assessment. We all provide a service to people in need. These are the most type of calls we have.

Driving the Jeep the last few days. It's been hot, but nice. So, into my last day today for my three day run. Then, tomorrow, we will drive to Pound Va, where we will meet the guy that bought the camper, and exchange paperwork and money. We are looking at some Hybrid campers as well. We will see.

Tires & Tired

These two, I swear. Well, getting back into the grind of working and all. So glad that I have a job that I love. Don't love everything about it, but I love being a Paramedic.

After renting the Uhaul, I had to return it.

Just reminding myself that we are so blessed being able to live here in the mountains.

I found a killer deal on some used tires. For $200 bucks, I got four tires mounted. Good deal, they are approx 50% so I should get a year out of them. Downside, they are loud and the Tahoe is not as smooth, but they are mud tires.

Well, back f rom the beach and we are finally getting caught up. The yard, watering the flowers/garden, and other stuff.

Sold & Smaller

Well, we did it. We sold our camper that was in storage at Lakewood Campground. It was a hard decision, but one I think will work out good. We want to get something lighter and smaller to pull different places this coming year. We had so much stuff in it, we had to get a U-haul to being it home.

Now, here are some pics from last week.

Front and Frontline

Another flight for an attempted suicide. This call included a procedure called RSI, or now it is DAI, Drug assisted intubation. In other words, in order to protect that airway of the patient, we must take it and provide that ourselves.

These are the new drip kits that Trex and myself has created in order to access the medication easier and faster.

This is a house that a coworker bought and I was just fooling around.

Playing around again, pulling the truck in frontwards. WE do have fun at work most days.

OK, we are off for a week, and to Lakewood we go.

Flight & Food

Yesterday, I partner was off work so I worked with Jay. Jay is funny and it was a pretty good day. Of course, by the pic, we see we flew another out. Confirmed stroke through CT and signs & symptoms. Funny, we picked the PT up at BRRH and took them to Newdale Fire Dept LZ. Kinda strange, but hey, whatever works.

Sunday night TC cooked a wonderful meal. The tomatoes, both red and Fried Green, along with the fried squash, all from her garden. She fixed some corn bread and black eyed peas. Man, what a meal. It was great.

Brody took a nap with me the other day and this is what I woke up to.

Here is TC doing what she loves. Everyday she works so hard on the garden and flowers. She makes out home so nice and healthy. OK, two more day shifts and its one week to the beach.

Birds & Beaches

So, here is Ray. Ray is a Team Leader and been a Medic for over 30 years. We were having a little training for our standby this coming year at the football games and ole Ray had to relive his glory days and put the helmet on. He is so funny.

On this day, we were called out for chest pains. 12 lead EKG was a little funky, but first call was unremarkable. We hold on to our bird (Helicopter is on standby), load the patient, and BAM, inferior STEMI. The bird is launched, Care provided, and the outcome was positive. With the assistance of Fork Mountain Fire & Rescue, Fork Mountain Baptist Church (providing the space for the LZ) we all worked together and had a job we could be proud of.

I am on my 3 day break, and decided to work at Ashe County on Friday, so now I only have a 2 day break, but I am so thankful for that.

Did a 13 hour shift on Medic 3, a real piece of crap of a truck. Good shift with Ben (a Basic, and a good one at that)

All for now, we are trying to decided what we are going to do with the camper, leave it at the beach or bring it home. If we leave it, we are looking at buying a pop up or Hybrid to have for local camping. We will see!!! Meanwhile, we are a week away from heading back to Lakewood. Can't wait....

Tanks & Thanks

The Tahoe- Bought for Christie and her family back in November of 22 for their transportation. I bought it instead of a mini van, well just because, but it is also a 7 passenger. I have had to do some work to it since, but I keep it as my daily driver because I like it so much, it's like driving a tank after driving the Jeep for so long. What to do??? Should I keep driving or sell it?

Herbert the H shift Hog. This is mine and Tristan, my partner, mascot. A few shifts have them. We like Herbert...

Came across this pic.... Our truck/camper combo. It looks good I think. Currently, the camper is being stored at the beach.

TC's garden... We will move the tomato plants for next year. Actually, I will a raised bed for this location.

TC pulled those Itilian beans as they quit producing, but they were so good...

So, after cutting the grass and letting Bailey run a bit, I just stood here and was thankful.
