Sugar Plum Farms

What a fun time. So, you pay for your tree, and other things like wreaths, and you get in turn, a sit on Santa's lap, a hay ride to the top, pick out your tree, a ride back down, hot chocolate, roasting marshmallows and of course a warm fire. Just a wonderful experience. So, a tree and a wreath for $112.00 That's really pretty good. The kids loved it!

Turkey Day and Work

It's the little things....J, made new securing devices for the air tanks. This wrench is very important when and if you are trying to change out a O2 bottle, FAST.
TC cooked a fantastic meal at home for Christie and her family. I hate I missed it, but leftovers were great.

So, I worked Thanksgiving. Nothing new really! Below are some pics of that.

In between football games, I talked the guys into watching Gunsmoke....

Afternoon Outing

Today, we took the kids to McDonalds and then to Linville Caverns. Been a hot minute since we have been there. During their visit, David is working at Samaritan Purse.

Taxes

This is a interesting article. I particularly like the last sentence, "If you want to yell at someone, then come yell at the commission board in a live meeting,” Masters said. “The employees at the tax office are only doing their jobs.”

Why would I want to yell at the Board of Commissioners?
If this is the case, and I quote, "North Carolina General Statutes require regular property reappraisals. Said reappraisals must be 100% of market value at that time. Appraisal values are based on all property in the area that has sold recently."
So, government (Feds/State/Local) caused this incredible outrage of a response to Covid, eventually causing real estate to increase sharply, this causing appraisals to go up, thus causing my taxes to increase a little over $250.
My rant, if you are still reading, is frustration that the state did not put a halt to appraisals because the 100% market value is so exaggerated these days. Anyway, reckon I'll just pay it and move on and be thankful that I can.

EMS, Creek Rising & Family.

Here are some different pics
Above is a Vent setting that I took so I could have a record to look back on. This pt was a gentleman in his 70's and was also a purple heart veteran. Below is a pic of a 12 lead of a STEMI (ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction, a heart attack. This call began a syncope (fainting) episode and a fall and led to this. Weather was bad, so no flight service. We took this PT directly to Mission.

Some pics of our creek after a pretty good rain storm and after it settled down a bit.

TC made one of my favorites, homemade pizza.

A lone ambulance at Mission, a rare occurrence.

A few pics of the granddaughters. Christie and her family are visiting from England.

Description and Decorating

First pic is from 3 night ago. The next two is from last night. We have had almost of week of this bright moon. I love it!!!

TC has done such a great job decorating our little house. She takes pride in it and I love her for it.

EMS Stuff

I took this pic after transferring a pt from our stretcher to the OR table. This is a first for me. I mean, straight to the operating table. It was serious. A descending Aortic dissection. So far, pt is still alive.

A recent Vent trip...Just thought I would post the settings. This trip was pretty tough. At first the PT was not stable, but eventually, things got better and we made the trip to Mission just fine!

Faith & Food

We have been looking for a 7 passenger vehicle for some time now for Christie's visit coming up. After all the looking we have done, we decided on this one...4 WD and 7 passenger, and if we cannot sale it after they have gone, then its something that we can keep... 2003 Tahoe We asked God to help us find what we need and we felt this was the one.

Walking outside in November and what do I see?

Taking a break from working on the floor. It felt so good outside. Yes, I fell asleep

Trick and/or Treat

Trick or Treat- My crew was assigned to take care of the Baskerville safe trick or treat event. Overall it was great, the kids were many and mostly happy. Yes, a few brats were there too. Youngins, I tell ya. My partner and I went to Dollar Tree and got some stuff to decorate and MM paid for the candy. This is a good community outreach.
