We picked this guy up in Mt. Holly NC yesterday. As stated before, Bitsy just did not work out because of her biting everyone, but TC wanted another dog. So this one, as I am told is a Double Doodle, was found and he is so cute.

Never have I ever

Never have I ever actually went and picked a preacher, who was preaching right in front of the congregation. So, we get the call. The church is about 2 minutes from the base. We respond, and while enroute, dispatch advised that CPR is in progress. We arrive, download all of our equipment, and roll into the sanctuary, and that is when I notice that is is indeed the preacher lying right up on stage with the entire congregation sitting there watching. The church had a AED and it had shocked the pt twice and after CPR the pt gained a pulse and had become alert. We arrived and decided to load and go. We also decided to fly him to Mission as he was Post Arrest and had a cardiac history. He is alive!!! Quite interesting to say the least... 

 

A Hard Thing

One of the harest things we have done is to take Bitsy back to the Rescue shelter. Yesterday, we had to do just that. To us, it was the unthinkable. We have had her now for 3 months and it keeps getting worse. She can be so sweet sometimes, but she can also be a devil dog. She has bit me several times and now she has bit TC. She gets aggressive with Bailey and it just keeps getting worse. Well, after much thought, we went back to the shelter and they understood. I swear, it seems like she wanted to be there. A hard thing indeed but we had to do it. 

 

Ashe Medics

Ashe Medics- Yesterday I worked a 12 hour shift at Ashe on their day truck. We had 4 calls but were only at the base for a short time. I was pretty tired when I got home. We had long transports and also a Winston trip. Of course I was with a Basic and it was his 3rd shift. Good guy though. It was a good day and I got to see ER staff and other folks. I always enjoy that. Back to Mitchell today... 

 

Campfire & Cake

So, I finnally got a gas camp fire and so far I love it. I found this one on Amazon for $79, which I thought was a great deal. 

Susan, out AFLAC lady and also a dear friend always bakes me peanut butter pound cake several times a year. It is so good!!!! 

Today, I have the day off but the to do list is already so long, I'll never got it all done, so I will do my best and not worry about the rest. My day off tomorrow I chose to work a 12 hours shift in Ashe...

 

Lakewood Trip # 2

A few pics of the campsite and the beach. I really enjoyed spending time with Bailey on the beach first thing in the morning. Of course TC is not a morning person, so she is usually not with us in the morning.

Signs of Sickness

Nope, we are not pregnant, but I also do not have Covid After work on Tuesday evening, I came home and we begin to watch our little show (Heartland) and we proceed to enjoy the boiled peanuts that I had just bought from Ingles. That night I began a series of events.....I got the stomach bug, which in turn emptied me of all stomach contents. Let's just say I will not be having boiled peanuts for a bit. 

Based on past history, and the way I felt myself feeling, I called and had an ambulance come out (Jackson & Autumn) and I received a liter of fluids and then proceeded to take a Phenergan nap. To be for sure, I approved all dosages I received. 25 mg of this and I was no longer nauseated, along with some Zofran. For work, I had to take a COVID test, and it was negative. Note; There are several medics out of work right now with COVID. I took Friday off to rest and now I am good.

So, not today it is back to work. I'm ready to face the day. Actually, two days and then I'm off for a week. We are heading back to Lakewood for Trip # 2 .
