Priceless and Pipes

Yesterday was my Birthday...I turned 59. I had to work and it was a tough shift. That night, the whole crew was able to go Mountain Holler and my coworkers bought me a steak and a birthday dessert. 

The Grands on the devices...Bailey is just taking a nap. 

Don't that look ugly. That is under my house. I had to repair a line, in which I had to take a 3/4 inch PVC, down to a 1/2 inch copper (which was leaking) and replace the Copper with 1/2 inch PEX. 

I had thought I paid to have the copper removed, but either I did not, or was told something differently. Anyway, I still need to do this. I have 3 more pieces of copper left.

Friends & Frozen

Funny story....Because of the low temps (-3 on Friday) I worked so hard to insulate and warm the well house and the filter house. I went to bed and left the water running. Now, TC was busy preparing for the big Christmas meal and just out of habit turned the water off, and it froze. 

The plastic filer burst....After thawing it out, I bypassed it.

And of course a short piece of PEX 1/2 inch that froze and split. 

My friend and Chief of Fork Mountain Fire Dept. Tim Jones saw my post on Facebook and he got some information and then showed up to help... We think we have the leaks fixed, but today he is going to bring a large heater and see if we can thaw out the pipes and then see if there are any more leak's. 

This caused us to miss the Huntsinger Christmas, but at least our kids got to go. See, I let Christie and then drive the Escape (BTW, she had to have some Gallstones removed, whole different story) and the Truck would not crank (Too cold) the Tahoe has a antifreeze Leak, but the Jeep started but I was not going to drive it to Mom's. 

It's Christmas morning and today has its own story.

So my friend Jeremy made this for me. He works part time at Mitchell Medics, and because I am the oldest person there, I get ragged about it pretty hard.

Christmas Eve and TC let the kids open one present that was their matching PJ's. 

WE missed the Huntsinger Christmas because of the cold and frozen pipes, but the kids got to enjoy it.
