Rueben's & Relationships

All 3 trucks fueling at the same time. Just thought it was funny. I was working a 36 hours shift, something I use to be able to do with ease, now not so much. It was a good shift, but my body just wears out faster now.

Brothers- Brody using Bailey's butt as a pillow. These are the most sweetest dogs.

TC fixed Rueben sandwiches for lunch and they were great. She also fixed spaghetti that night and we had a little different sauce and it too was great.

Seems like these two days have been good, my get up and go, got up and went. Getting personnel, it seems that TC and I have not got along that great lately. I really don't know why, but I guess you do have those times in your life. Well, all is well and we are trying to plan for our trip to Iowa coming up at Christmas. Sammie is expecting almost at anytime. WE are waiting for that call. Christie finally had her surgery and seems to be doing well. She go home from the hospital today.

I sometimes feel so distant from our kids & Grandkids. I guess distance has caused that. Of course, I do think to myself, "They are the ones that moved off". WE have done what we could to help them out when necessary and bless them with other things. As we get older, we realize that they will probably not be around when our health fails, years from now. Maybe so, maybe not.

Daddy & Fords

3 day weekend. On Friday, I got all the Christmas decorations out of the shed and brought them in. I also winterized the camper and reinforce the well house with more wood and spray foam. I had to pick up some parts for the F250 to replace some on the front end.  Yes, I could make it last longer, but one thing I wanted to do is to keep the Ford in A1 shape.

She is waiting over at Jamie's place.

Then, we went down to Mom's house and took her to Love's Fish Box for lunch, and helped her decorate Daddy's grave.

Almost Home...

Well, just because he so stinking cute.

And, one of my favorite pics of Daddy. It came up on memories on Facebook. I really do cherish this pic. It will be 3 years this coming March. Hard to believe. I so wish I could talk to daddy.

Thanksgiving 2023

Well, I got the top home but the truck is still in the shop, so I'm gonna have to wait until it gets home before I know for sure it will fit.

Yesterday at work, we cooked breakfast, checked our trucks and only had a couple of calls.

T-rex did a fine job.

Mac is mac

TC did such a great job with the turkey, ham, mac & cheese, and of course banana pudding. Others brought a few things and it was a good meal.

Even the dogs got to come.

Tops & Pondering

TC started making the banana pudding yesterday and I got to lick the bowl...

She was tired, so I cooked supper. Pintos, northern beans, green beans and corn with buttered bread, cut onions and sliced tomatoes. Yummy

Then, my old friend Bill Jones, former pastor of First Baptist Newland, contacted me to see if I was interested in this cover. I had posted an interest, and bam. So, it is a Leer and wonderful shape. It is off a 6 foot bed like mine, but was on a 2010.....

We will see if it will fit when I get my truck back. I am basically getting the front end rebuilt. I will have to get the front end realigned, but it was time.

Spiritually, yesterday I was looking in Isaiah 58 and diving into some things we should be doing, but our hearts better be right. We should delight in the things of the Lord. Both TC and myself are pondering our future when it comes to church. We have tried two, Western Carolina and Liberty Hill. I think we are going to keep looking for now.

Doctors & Dog Parks

Yesterday started early and ended late. I needed blood work at the VA at 9 AM. Afterwards, we ate breakfast, then I had an Appt at 11 am and got two shots in my shoulder. After that, we visited two different dog parks (hence the pics and videos) then TC had an Appt at 2:30. Afterwards, we made it back to Marion and to Country Barbecue for supper. Home to unwind and we watched a move called an Old Fashioned Thanksgiving. Pretty good move, very wholesome. Both us and the dogs were pretty much wiped out.

Breaks & Blessings

Taking the dogs for their morning walk, I always love looking at Liberty Hill Baptist Church's Cross.

Looking back to the house...Everytime I do this, I am so thankful for the life we are blessed with.

Truck Washing party at Work

Last pic was at a call. Older gentlemen riding a ATV and it got away from him and crashed. We used a First Responder truck to carry pt to the ambulance, bout 150 yards. It was not too bad, and it appeared that the pt was OK, so we took him locally, but unfortunately, Pt was flown to a larger facility as C-2 & C-4 was fractured. You just never know.

It is strange how our minds and thoughts for the day can change so fast. A new day started off so well, and for sure it was a good day, however, when you are around filthy talking, you can't help but to be effected. I do try! My main concern is to keep my voice at a place as to be respected. Why? I am not a goody two show for sure. Even when I was a preacher, I considered myself a blue collar preacher. A friend to be was more important to me, as I thought that was the best way.

Ephesians 4:29 says  Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

This verse always come to mind. That word corrupt means rotten, or a word that no longer has a use or in other words no longer fit to use. Then, this verse comes to mind
James 3:9-10 Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God. 10 Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

I think this verse speaks to me more directly. The concept of speaking blessing and curses is such a contrast. Anyway, hopefully, I can be a blessing to someone today.
