April Beach Trip

The time came and we were off on Vacation. First time pulling this camper to the beach and did great pulling. 

Finally set up...we had some problems with the camper but after a few things, it was great. 

Burnt biscuits - First real time using the blackstone knockoff, what I call the Flat Iron.

OK, TC got to feeling bad, so I gave her some medication. 

I always dreaded having to give her an IV, thought it would be tough, but it was not.

It's been really busy at work. Lots of office work! 

 

Rain & Rainbows

We have had lots of rain the last few days and the wind, whew! 

Friday night, we did a grocery pick up and ate at the Mexican restaurant. Looking out the window, we see God's Promise! 

Work is going good. We still have 2 24 hours shifts and two 12 hour shifts left to fill. Right now, it is being filled with part time and overtime. Hopefully, there will be more to hire in the future. The work load is getting better as I figure out some of the weekly and monthly reports. Base culture has improved so much and the relationships we have with the First Responders has also improved. This is not rocket science, it is just respecting others. Care, Character and Compassion. This week we will also start getting ready for our first Beach trip this year. It will be a first for us to pull our current camper down there and then, have to pull it back. 

 

Steak & Service & Values

Sunday night was steak night. It was delicious. After that, we watched the premier of "When Calls The Heart". Yes a Hallmark show but it is clean. This show, while a bit cheesy, celebrates the values I was raised with and still appreciate. 

Medic Monday

Jimmy had stopped by to refresh some AHA BLS cards. This led to some impromptu airway and intubation tips and training. Good stuff 

Lots of running around yesterday and I came home tired. I went to Parkway Fire Dept biz meeting and I really enjoyed it. I felt welcome and was given a few minutes to speak and address a few things. I look forward to getting to know them more. Another truck went to Ledger. I would say that we are getting after it pretty good.

Ending of another week. It's been a good week, but a long one. Started off with an incredible Easter sunrise service, at our little creek. Church @ First Baptist was incredible. The work week was busy and long. We are getting there though. I have four more spots to fill. It looks like I will be filling them with more Part time. I am thankful for part time folks. I have got to show the county that working non Medics is acceptable, especially Advanced EMT's, but even EMT Basics are fine, as long as they are in Medic school. Well, that is not our policy right now, and the only reason that I am facing this problem is all found in one reason; The former Director hired these folks. Anyway, we are working to get the puzzle figured out. OK, well we push forward. I am so glad it is the weekend, and we have full coverage. Going to enjoy visiting my Mom and then doing some work round the house.

It was a Snowy/Rainy day. We had some good training and you could just tell that everyone was in a good mood. Love days like this. Office was good too, made some headway on a proposal that will be presented later. Emailed some updates etc. This week is good in that we hired 2 Paramedics. The schedule is getting better, but we have a few to go yet.
